A Color Wheel (also called color circle) is an organized illustration of the relationships between primary colors (red, yellow, and blue), secondary colors(green, orange, and violet/purple), and tertiary colors (red–orange, red–violet, yellow–orange, yellow–green, blue–violet and blue–green)
Violet (purple) is exactly in middle between the primary colors blue and red indicating that when blue and red are mixed in equal proportions, you would get violet (purple) color.
Green is exactly is in middle between the primary colors blue and yellow indicating that when blue and yellow are mixed in equal proportions, you would get green color

The color wheel also shows complementary colors. Blue and orange are complementary colors as they are exactly opposite on the color wheel. So the combination of blue and orange gives a neutral color (brown/gray/black/white) Complementary colors with varying shades are used extensively in fashion and decoration
